Fortran Steels, founded in 1991, had grown into a hundred-crore company — and was still being treated as a mid-sized player. It was capable of competing with the industry leaders; it simply wasn’t projecting that capacity. The brief: a complete rebrand with positioning strong enough to hold ground among giants.
The positioning idea was Megastructure ×5 — measure Fortran not by its size but by what its output could build. The campaign made the maths visceral: the steel in the Burj Khalifa is 39,000 tonnes; the India–Pakistan border runs 2,200 km — and Fortran’s capacity could deliver structures like these several times over. Suddenly a “mid-sized” company was speaking at the scale of monuments.
The identity followed the same quiet confidence: a chevron mark on slate blue, the wordmark set low and steady, and the line creating value — carried from flag to brochure to a billboard over the night highway.
